Compared to traditional European cuisine, Asian fusion utilises the entire palate of taste and tactile sensations. These hot, sour, salty, sweet and bitter essences present a fantastic palate of flavours to combine with wine. In selecting wine to match with Asian fusion there are several loose rules to follow:
. softer, sweeter, fruitier wines balance hotter spicier dishes
. fruit-driven wines match sweeter dishes
. crisp wines for tangy dishes and
. smoother full-bodied wines for rich creamy dishes.
We find white and rose wines easier to match with Asian fusion than red wines, although there are exceptions! All the wines on our list have been selected for their ability to go with Asian fusion foods. Chai yo!
