Here is some useful information about our food. Please do not hesitate to call or email if you have any queries at all or if you have questions regarding specialist diets or requirements.

  • our food has a high proportion of lightly-cooked fresh vegetables thus preserving the high-levels of nutrients in them. 
  • most dishes are cooked with a minimum of fat

  • we use locally sourced organic pollack and mussels 
  • our scallops are from fal bay and our fish suppliers are cornish.
  • daily specials use local organic fish such as lemon sole, john dory, mackerel, hake or line caught sea bass.
  • our beef and pork is “prime cornish”
  • our cornish orchards apple juice and eldeflower pressé come from a high quality local orchard and are full of vitamins
  • we offer unique tregothnan tea from cornwall estates, hand picked with all the health benefits of anti oxidants etc  
  • we do not add msg to any of our food (there is a small amount of msg in our oyster sauce, soy sauce and prawn crackers)
  • we have stayed true to the traditions of southeast asian food and add sugar and vinegar to our dishes; however, the amounts we add are reduced to as low a level as possible without compromising the delicate balance in our flavours.
  • we do have sugar free dishes so please ask
  • lime is added as a digestive as are pineapple or papaya in certain dishes e.g. roast duck red curry with pineapple and authentic papaya salad. 
  • you have a choice of authentic fragrant jasmine white rice or organic brown rice with your meal
  • we use a lot of coconut milk which is now making a comeback as a 'good oil' compared to other saturated fats found in meat and processed foods
  • our sushi is handmade and are served with wasabii and ginger which are good for promoting blood flow and are basis  of the healthy japanese diet.
